Firearms Safety. In order to promote safety in the use of firearms by employees, the state will guarantee that each employee is allowed to fire his weapon in an approved Standards and Training Course at least once every six months, at no cost to employee. Such training shall be for the purpose of familiarization in the use of firearms.

1 B. Temporary assignments - Any members not able to demonstrate proficiency with their service weapon 2 will be temporarily assigned to duties which do not require firearms.
3 C. Repeated failure to demonstrate competency with the primary service weapon shall be cause for 4 appropriate action up to and including withdrawal of appointment.
