Common use of Fitness Class Clause in Contracts

Fitness Class. A free fitness class offered weekly before or after school (and outside of teacher contract hours) at each building and a wellness class offered at least monthly before or after school at each building by certified or licensed instructors. Classes may include things such as yoga, walking, Zumba, aerobics, healthy cooking, nutrition, weight management, food planning, and mindfulness. Teachers must submit proposals for review and recommendation by the School Corporation wellness coach that are subject to approval by the Director of Human Resources within 10 business days of submission. A class will be held in the building of the teacher who submitted the proposal. At least 7 teachers per class must be interested and must attend each class. Costs for the class shall not exceed $75 per class session per building. If participation falls below 7 teachers per class session, then the class will be cancelled. If the School Corporation Wellness Coach can offer the class at the building at the time on the teacher’s proposal, then the School Corporation Wellness Coach may provide the service or class. Class participants are limited to School Corporation employees.
