Foreign Teacher or Research. The District may grant a permanent Unit Member a leave of absence for research or teaching under a nationally recognized fellowship approved by the State Board of Education, or for teaching in American Armed Services Dependents’ Schools overseas. Such a leave shall not constitute a break in the continuity of service within the District and shall be an unpaid leave.
