Jury Duty/Subpoenaed Witness Leave. 1. If an employee is called for court jury duty, he/she will be paid his/her regular salary or daily rate in full. All money received as compensation for jury duty shall be turned over to the Board. Such leave will not be charged against personal leave. Notice of absence must be called in as soon as possible prior to the day of service as a juror.
2. If an employee is called as a subpoenaed witness in a court matter involving an individual with developmental disabilities that arises out of the employee's employment, he/she shall be afforded the benefits as listed in paragraph 1 above.
Jury Duty/Subpoenaed Witness Leave. Jury Duty: A leave with pay shall be granted to employees called for jury duty in the manner provided for by law. An employee who receives a jury summons shall submit a copy of the summons to the supervisor. At the conclusion of jury duty, the employee shall submit a leave of absence form specifying the dates and times served by the employee. This shall be attached to the Leave of Absence report. Payment shall be made to the County Superintendent in the amount of the statutory fees that the employee has received for attendance as a juror, excluding the statutory mileage fee. This leave provision shall not apply to voluntary duty on a grand jury.
Jury Duty/Subpoenaed Witness Leave. When an employee is required to serve on a jury, or is subpoenaed by the Crown as a witness, the employee shall be relieved of her duties for such time as the service may require, and shall be paid the difference between her fee as a juror or witness, and her earnings for any regularly scheduled shift(s) lost. To relieve the employee of her duties, the Employer may, with the agreement of the employee, reschedule the employee, provided it would be reasonable to do so, having regard for her obligations as a juror or witness. The employee must attend work for any regularly scheduled shift for which the employee is not actually required for jury duty, or to be present at any trial. In addition, the employee must attend work, even if replaced, if there is at least one (1) hour of the employee’s shift remaining, after her presence is no longer required at the court facilities.
Jury Duty/Subpoenaed Witness Leave. A classified employee shall be granted such time as is necessary for jury duty/subpoenaed witness. The employee shall be paid the employee's regular compensation and the employee shall retain any remuneration received for serving as a juror. The employee must submit written documentation to the Treasurer’s office for all of the dates the employee served on jury duty. Such leave will not be charged against personal leave. Notice of absence must be called in prior to the day of service as a juror/ subpoenaed witness.
Jury Duty/Subpoenaed Witness Leave. A bargaining unit member shall be granted such time as is necessary for jury duty/subpoenaed witness time. Such leave will not be charged against personal leave. Notice of absence must be called in prior to the day of service as a juror/subpoenaed witness. The bargaining unit member shall be paid the bargaining unit member's regular compensation and the bargaining unit member shall retain any remuneration received for serving as a juror. The bargaining unit member must submit written documentation to the Treasurer’s office for the dates the member served on jury duty or served as a subpoenaed witness.

When a regular employee is required to serve on a jury, or is subpoenaed by the Crown as a witness, provided that the action is not occasioned by the employees private affairs, the employee shall be relieved of her duties for such time as the service may require, up to a maximum of ten (10) days and shall be paid the difference between her fee as a juror or witness, and her earnings for any regularly scheduled shift(s) lost. To relieve the employee of her duties, the Employer may, with the agreement of the employee, reschedule the employee, provided it would be reasonable to do so, having regard for her obligations as a juror or witness. Jury Duty/Subpoenaed Witness Leave. Each member of the bargaining unit who is requested and accepts assignment to jury duty, or must be present as a subpoenaed witness (not covered under personal leave, Section 2-A-7 above), shall be paid his/her regular full salary while on such leave. However, within thirty (30) days of receipt by the employee of any fees or payment, said fees and/or payments shall be remitted to the Aurora City Schools, minus mileage and meal expenses.
Jury Duty/Subpoenaed Witness Leave. The Board will pay for time lost during any work day (Monday through Friday) to any employee for the purpose of serving municipal, county, state or federal jury duty or as a subpoenaed witness on the following basis:
A. Employee must immediately report to his immediate supervisor the receipt of notice to appear for jury duty/subpoenaed witness leave.
B. The employee will work any part of the day during which it is practical.
C. Any jury fees received by the employee shall be deducted from the amount to be paid by the Board.
D. A certificate will be required from the employee, properly signed by the court, indicating such periods served on jury duty. The certificate must be signed by the local Superintendent before adjustment is made by the Treasurer.
E. Such leave shall not be charged against personal leave.
Jury Duty/Subpoenaed Witness Leave. When a regular employee covered by this Agreement is called for Jury Duty or is subpoenaed as a witness to testify about matters which are job related in any municipal, county, state or federal court, he shall advise his supervisor upon receipt of such call, and if taken from his work; for such service, shall be reimbursed as provided herein for any loss of wages while actually performing such service.

10.8.3 At the conclusion of jury duty, the employee shall submit a statement from the Jury Commissioner's Office specifying the dates and times served by the employee. This shall be attached to the Leave of Absence Report.
10.8.4 Payment shall be made to the County Superintendent in the amount of the statutory fees that the employee has received for attendance as a juror, excluding the statutory mileage fees.
