Fraud, Waste and Abuse Unit. The CHC-MCO must establish a Fraud, Xxxxx and Abuse Unit comprised of experienced Fraud, Xxxxx and Abuse reviewers. This Unit must have the primary purpose of preventing, detecting, reducing, investigating, referring, and reporting suspected Fraud, Waste and Abuse that may be committed by Network Providers, Subcontractors, Participants, caregivers, employees, or other third parties. If the CHC-MCO has multiple lines of business, the Fraud, Waste and Abuse Unit must devote sufficient time and resources to the CHC Fraud, Waste and Abuse activities. The Department will determine whether or not the CHC-MCO is in compliance with these requirements in accordance with 42 CFR 438.608(a)(7).
