Fundamental Principles. 12.1 All components of the Movement shall ensure that the Fundamental Principles are respected by the Movement’s components and statutory bodies. 12.2 The ICRC has the primary responsibility in the maintenance and dissemination of the Fundamental Principles. The ICRC and the IFRC shall collaborate in the dissemination of those Principles among the National Societies. National Societies have a key role to play in upholding and disseminating the Fundamental Principles within their own country and in assisting those governments which also disseminate them.
