General Leave Usage. Request and Approval: The Police Chief is responsible for arranging leave schedules so that adequate personnel are available to carry on city work. The use of General Leave shall require approval of the Chief of Police or his/her designee and shall be governed by the current Personnel Rules dealing with leaves unless specifically covered by this Plan document. Whenever possible, General Leave requests must be approved in advance of the days to be taken as General Leave. The procedure for requesting the use of General Leave shall be as follows:

  • General Leave Notwithstanding any provision for leave in this Agreement, the Employer may grant a leave of absence without pay to an employee requesting leave for an emergency or other unusual circumstances. A leave of absence may also be granted for any other reason in which case approval shall not be unreasonably withheld. All requests and approvals for leave shall be in writing. Upon request, the Employer will give reasons orally for withholding approval.

  • General Leaves When no other leaves are available, a leave of absence may be granted to an employee on a paid or unpaid basis at any time upon any terms acceptable to the District and an employee.

  • Annual Leave Loading (a) In addition to their ordinary pay, an employee, other than a shiftworker, will be paid an annual leave loading of 17.5% of their ordinary pay on a maximum of 152 hours/four weeks annual leave per annum.

  • Funeral Leave Section 30.1 In the event of the death of a parent, spouse, child, sister, brother, mother-in- law, father-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, grandparent of the Employee or spouse, grandchild of the Employee, or “xxxxxx” or “step” situations within these relationships, the Employee shall be allowed a leave of absence with pay of two (2) consecutive (eight or ten hour) workdays.

  • General Leave of Absence a) Leave of absence without pay may be granted to employees for valid reasons as set out by Company policy.

  • Annual Leave Accrual If an employee leaves State Classified employment and is later rehired, he/she shall accrue annual leave at the same rate as a new hire. However, once a rehired employee has been in pay status for five (5) years, all previous service time shall be credited for annual leave accrual.   • Casual Leave (a) Employees may be granted casual leave with pay to a maximum of two (2) hours for the following purposes:
