General Leave Sample Clauses

General Leave. Notwithstanding any provision for leave in this Agreement, the Employer may grant a leave of absence without pay to an employee requesting leave for an emergency or other unusual circumstances. A leave of absence may also be granted for any other reason in which case approval shall not be unreasonably withheld. All requests and approvals for leave shall be in writing. Upon request, the Employer will give reasons orally for withholding approval.
General Leave. The Employer may grant leave of absence without pay and without loss of seniority to any employee requesting such leave for good and sufficient cause, such request to be in writing and approved by the Employer. Such approval shall not be withheld unjustly.
General Leave. An Employer may grant a leave of absence with or without pay to an employee for any reason for up to twenty-four (24) consecutive months. Such leaves shall not be unreasonably denied. Where an application for general leave is denied, the applicant will be provided with a written explanation for the denial of the leave.

If a request for leave of absence is denied, the Employer will advise the Employee in writing of the reasons for the denial.

General Leave. The Company agrees that any full-time employee may apply in writing for a leave of absence, without pay, or without loss of seniority or benefits, to attend to serious illness in an employee’s immediate family or personal reason. The Company may grant the leave providing it is satisfied that the circumstances justify such leave and that the efficiency of the operation is not affected.

(b) Employees returning from a general leave of absence will provide six weeksadvance notice of their return. Upon return from leave of absence, the employee will be placed in his/her former position or where the position no longer exists in an equivalent position.
