Common use of General penalties Clause in Contracts

General penalties. A person who commits a breach of any provisions of this local law commits an offence and shall on conviction be liable to a penalty not exceeding $500, and if the offence is a continuing one to a further penalty not exceeding $20 for every day or part of a day during which the offence has continued.
