General Principles of Reimbursement. (1) In-State (i) Breakfast or dinner is reimbursable only if prior approval for the expenditure is granted by a superior officer. (ii) Notwithstanding other provisions of this Article, effective July 6, 1997, no State Police Lieutenant shall be eligible for the reimbursement of any in-state, mid tour meal. (iii) Actual expenses incurred for lodging will be reimbursed only if prior approval is granted by a supervisor. (2) Out-of-State Travel Approval will be required before incurring reimbursable expenses, by the Commissioner or, in emergency situations, by a division head or his or her designee for a period not to exceed one (1) day. Travel reimbursement for air, rail, bus, and/or car rental will be made only if prior approval by a division head or his designee has been secured.
