A. is not obligated to underwrite any cover/risk, nor shall it be liable to pay any claim compensation, or to provide any service or benefit, to the extent that such underwriting, payment of claim compensation or provision of any benefit would expose the Insurer to any sanction, prohibition or restriction under the United Nations Resolutions, or any other economic or trade sanctions, laws or regulations of the European Union, the United States of America and/or Portugal. For purposes of compulsory insurance, the above exclusion of liability only applies in cases where the sanctions are applicable to the Portuguese legal system.
