Head Mechanic. E. Sr. Water Plant Head Mechanic Tool allowance monies shall be allocated to employees up to the applicable yearly maximum amount specified in this section, upon presentation of receipts evidencing the purchase of approved tools. In the event of fire, major accident or theft- not involving negligence of the employee, the City will replace the tools which are damaged or stolen with tools of comparable quality. There will be no carryover of non-reimbursed funds and all equipment must be approved before the purchase by the department head or designee, with reimbursement made upon presentation of the appropriate receipt(s). The City reserves the right to discontinue this reimbursement policy at any time and instead to provide all the necessary tools to mechanics and employees covered by this Agreement.
Head Mechanic. Additional two dollars ($2.00) per hour to be added to appropriate mechanic's wage. The Head Mechanic shall be appointed by management considering relevant qualifications. There shall be no head mechanic if there is a mechanic's supervisor.
Head Mechanic. A qualified school bus driver, who supervises the Mechanic Helper, participates in the repair and maintenance of District vehicles and orders necessary equipment for the t? upkeep of said vehicles. The Head Mechanic reports to the Transportation Supervisor or his/her designee. The Head Mechanic does not accrue regular route driver seniority and will not drive bus except in emergency situations, as determined by the Transportation Supervisor or his/her designee and is reported to an Association Officer prior to the trip. The Head Mechanic’s departmental seniority will also be applicable to and accrue as substitute bus driver seniority with said seniority to be compared to those employees who are appointed to the position of substitute school bus drivers on or after July 1,2002.

Set up and supervise a system for the receipt and issuance of parts and supplies and the keeping of records and inventories in cooperation with the Transportation Supervisor. 4. Must be responsible for protecting school system property and securing the area. 5. Promote a high standard of safety and good housekeeping methods in all connected work areas. 6. Coordinate the acquisition, maintenance and return of all driver education cars. 7. Maintain required CDL for bus driving, and attend all state mandated training for bus driving. 8. Maintain state certification as a Master Mechanic/Heavy Duty Truck, including both gasoline and diesel engine repair, driver train, suspension/steering, brakes and electrical. Also, be willing to attend on-going training and maintain certifications in all State or District required areas. 9. Drive bus routes or trips as assigned by the Transportation Supervisor, at such times as the employee is needed. 10. Possess and maintain sufficient band tools to carry out necessary duties. 11. Maintain accurate records of all general and special maintenance repairs, including all parts and labor. 12. Assist in the recruitment, screening, training, and evaluating of garage transportation staff. 13. Cover the Transportation Department in the absence of the Supervisor. 14. Coordinate such other duties as may be assigned or needed.
Head Mechanic. The Head Mechanic will be paid an annual salary of $65,000 for 2017-2018 and will receive a 2.5% increase for each of the next three years of this agreement. Salary for a new Head Mechanic will be determined by the Superintendent.

Head Mechanic. The goal of the position of Head Mechanic with the Mt. Pleasant Public Schools is to help schedule and perform preventative maintenance, plan and perform all other repairs to district fleet including buses, maintenance vehicles, and other motorized equipment. Furthermore, prepare and maintain service records. Other responsibilities of the Head Mechanic include diagnosing problems, determining the best solutions, and making any necessary repairs to ensure the fleet is running well. The Head Mechanic will estimate time, materials and cost for repairs and maintenance. This also includes safety compliance and keeping the fleet in compliance with State and Federal regulations. The Head Mechanic must have and maintain a valid driver’s license, CDL and all necessary endorsements. Complete other duties as assigned by the Director of Transportation.
