Hearing Services Hearing exams. Medically necessary hearing exams as prescribed by a physician are covered. Audiologists may perform a hearing test. Hearing tests (diagnostic) Diagnostic hearing tests (such as audiometric hearing tests) as prescribed by a physician are covered under this agreement. Hearing Aid This agreement provides hearing aid coverage, in accordance with Rhode Island General Law § 27-20-46, for covered members up to the maximum benefit limit listed in the Summary of Medical Benefits. We will provide coverage up to the maximum benefit. You are responsible for paying the full amount due to the provider. If the full amount due to the provider is more than the maximum benefit, you are responsible for paying any difference. See Section 5.0 - How Your Covered Health Care Services Are Paid. We will reimburse the lesser of the provider’s charges or the maximum benefit amount shown in the Summary of Medical Benefits.
