Heart Valve Surgery. The actual undergoing of open-heart surgery to replace or repair heart valve abnormalities. The diagnosis of heart valve abnormality must be supported by cardiac catheterization or echocardiogram and the procedure must be considered medically necessary by a consultant cardiologist.

Heart Valve Surgery. The actual undergoing of open-heart valve surgery to replace or repair one or more heart valve abnormalities(s), as a consequence of defects in, abnormalities of, or disease affected cardiac valve(s).
