Higher Paying Position. An Employee assigned, promoted or reclassified in accordance with the Collective Agreement to a higher-paying position carrying a salary range shall be placed in an experience grade in the new classification which is next higher than the Employee’s previous rate. The date of promotion to the new classification shall become the anniversary date for application of the salary progression.
Higher Paying Position. When an employee temporarily substitutes in, or performs the principal duties of a higher paying position in the bargaining unit for a period in excess of one-half (½) of a shift, he/she shall receive the rate of pay applicable to the higher position from the beginning of such assignment. When an employee is temporarily assigned to a lower paying position than his/her own, his/her rate shall not be reduced.
