Highly Capable Program. The assignment of students to a teacher providing instruction to clustered Grade 1-5 students who qualify for the highly capable program will be balanced in light of the overall needs of other students in the class. Such teachers will be included in a professional learning committee (PLC) that meets on a periodic basis throughout the year and offered at least two release days (one per semester) for classroom observations and professional development as coordinated by the District’s highly capable coordinator to meet the individual needs of each teacher of highly capable students.
