Common use of Illness in the Line of Duty Clause in Contracts

Illness in the Line of Duty. Any member of the bargaining unit who must be absent from duty because of personal injury received in the discharge of duties or because of illness certified by a physician from contagious disease contracted in school work shall be entitled to illness in the line of duty leave. Such leave shall be authorized for a period not to exceed ten (10) days and shall be applicable only to the year during which the accident or illness occurred. Any extension beyond this amount shall require action of the Board.
