Common use of Import and Export Restrictions Clause in Contracts

Import and Export Restrictions. 1. Except as otherwise provided for in this Agreement, each Party shall not institute or maintain any prohibition or restriction other than Customs Duties on the importation of any good of the other Party or on the exportation or sale for export of any good destined to the other Party, which is inconsistent with its obligations under Article XI of the GATT 1994 and its relevant provisions under the WTO Agreement. 2. The measures specified in Annex 2 may be maintained, provided that such measures are consistent with the rights and obligations of the Party taking such measures under the WTO Agreement.
