Importance of Professional Development. Professional development and support is a key component of the District's education program. A strong professional development process focuses on improved student outcomes and the instructional practices and strategies needed to reach those outcomes. The professional development continuum must be continuous, constructive, growth oriented, and take place in an atmosphere of trust and respect. The process is a cooperative effort on the part of all involved and should be designed to encourage productive dialogue and action among staff, administrators, and the community.
