INITIAL PLACEMENT DETERMINATION. 8.2.1 All employees about to be evaluated for placement on the applicable salary scale shall prepare a detailed summary of their teaching, education, research, laboratory and other related work experience as set out in 8.1, 8.1.2 or 8.1.3. 8.2.2 The candidate or employee, and the Vice President of Human Resources shall meet and attempt to arrive at a consensus about the number of steps to be given for the related work experience of the candidate or employee. The candidate or employee shall have the opportunity to submit additional information, if any, which the candidate or employee feels could affect his or her placement. 8.2.3 If a consensus is not reached, the Vice President of Human Resources shall consider the information provided and make a reasonable decision. The Vice President of Human Resources shall provide the candidate or employee with a reasoned written decision.
