Initial Step Placement Formula. Provided a faculty member meets the hiring criteria of their area(s), the following criteria determines the number of steps beyond the minimum step at which faculty members will be initially placed. 5.6.5.1 Based on relevant academic, professional, trades or technical credentials from a recognized institution, step credits will be granted as follows: a) one step for the equivalent of one year or more of full time equivalent study resulting in a Diploma or Certificate(s); or
