Instructional Load Standards. 1. Faculty shall normally be assigned with a range of forty-one (41) to forty-eight (48) instructional units per academic year. 2. Faculty who teach four (4) to eight (8) lab credits per academic year shall normally be assigned within the range of forty-one (41) to forty-seven (47) instructional units. 3. Faculty who teach nine (9) to fourteen (14) lab credits per academic year shall normally be assigned within the range of forty-one (41) to forty-six (46) instructional units. 4. Faculty who teach fifteen (15) or more lab credits per academic year shall normally be assigned within the range of forty-one (41) to forty-five (45) instructional units. 5. Faculty members with a student/faculty ratio at or above the state average for the discipline who teach eight (8) or more sections of science labs per year will not have a unit load above 44 without additional compensation at the moonlight lab rate for the units above 44.
