IRS - Form 1099-S. For purposes of complying with Section 6045 of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended, Escrow Agent shall be deemed the “person responsible for closing the transaction” and shall be responsible for obtaining the information necessary to file with the Internal Revenue Service Form 1099-S, “Statement for Recipients of Proceeds from Real Estate, Broker and Barter Exchange Transactions.”
