Joint Book Series. The Publisher and AACCI shall set up a joint book publishing program (the “Joint Series”) under which they intend to publish the following works (collectively the “Books”): • Monographs on specific topics • Student textbooks explaining principles and their application, supported by worked examples, applications, visual presentation, end of chapter problems plus instructor support • Broad-based handbooks • Short (40-150 pages) publications that are published within five (5) weeks of receipt of an acceptable manuscript, unless both parties agree that the publication schedule should be longer. Such Books will cover explanations of new areas of research covering, methods, techniques, principles and applications. Books to be published under this Agreement shall exclude all current and future editions of: Approved Methods of Analysis, Sampling and Detection of Agricultural Biotechnology Products, and the User's Guide to ISO 22000 Food Safety Management System for the Grain Handling, Processing, Milling, and Baking Industries. Also excluded is the current third edition of Principles of Cereal Science and Technology. AACCI agrees to submit all proposals for new books to the Publisher. Proposals for books falling outside the aims and scope of the publisher’s strategy will be rejected within 45 days of receipt so that AACCI may pursue them independently of the Publisher. It is understood that certain publications of less than 150 pages that fall outside the aims and scope of AACCI’s or the publisher’s strategy are excluded from this Agreement, and AACCI is free to pursue such publications independently without first proposing them to the Publisher.

The parties intend this provision to be a continuing right to terminate this Agreement at the expiration of each budget period of County. Agreements for the acquisition, including lease of real or personal property under Tex. Loc. Govt. Code §271.903: In the event that, during any term hereof, the Commissioner’s Court does not appropriate sufficient funds to meet the obligations of County under this Agreement, County may terminate this Agreement upon ninety (90) days written notice to Company, County agrees, however, to use a best efforts attempt to obtain and appropriate funds for payment of the Agreement. The parties intend this provision, if applicable, to be a continuing right to terminate this at the expiration of each budget period of County in accordance with Tex. Loc. Govt. Code §271.903 (Xxxxxx Supp. 1996).
