Joint Voltage Stability Operating Protocol. Voltage stability or collapse problems have the potential to cause cascading outages and therefore must be closely coordinated to maintain reliable operations. The Parties were formed to have a regional perspective that looks beyond the boundary of a single control area. As such, the Parties will coordinate operations in accordance with good utility practice in order to maintain stable voltage profiles throughout the respective Party’s zones of operations.
