Common use of Labor Council Release Time Clause in Contracts

Labor Council Release Time. The City will make provisions for a total of twenty-four (24) hours authorized leave annually for Labor Council Officials (or designees) and twenty-four (24) hours authorized leave annually for Lodge officials (or designees) to attend conventions or other major business meetings. An employee may use such leave in half-hour (1/2) increments or more. Partial increments will be “rounded up” to the next complete half hour. (For example, forty-five minutes will be “rounded” to one hour and twenty minutes will be “rounded” to one-half hour.) The above time off for such officials (or designees) shall be time off with full pay at no expense to the employee's accrued leave time. Officials of the Lodge/Labor Council shall, at least thirty (30) days prior to the date of the function submit notice to the Chief of Police identifying the function, certify the member attending, and indicate the starting and ending date and applicable scheduled hours for each employee. The Chief will approve the request within three working days after receipt, provided Division Operations will not be unreasonably affected on the scheduled days in question.
