Common use of Layoff Rights Clause in Contracts

Layoff Rights. An employee on layoff status shall have the following rights: A. The right to retain seniority credit during the period of layoff. B. The right to notification of all postings for bargaining unit positions, therefore they will be posted on the district web site. C. The unchallenged right to unemployment compensation benefits when that employee has not been offered an equivalent bargaining unit position for which a teacher is certificated during layoff. D. Recognition of additional certification, license, or entry- level requirements earned or reported while on layoff status for recall purposes, provided such information is filed with the Board prior to recall.
