LCD Display. The MAIN PCB will be designed to accept any of the LCD's with their appropriate Inverter. LCD panels that require dual CCFL's will be avoided. Only a cable change, driver change and inverter change will be needed to switch between each LCD. Touch-Screen Capable Design must accept any of the four selected touch-screen interfaces. The Sharp LM8V31 is standard with touch screen installed. Optrex, Kyocera and Hitachi will require a 3rd party touch screen. 3rd Party touch screens to consider: Dynapro Xxxx Xxxxx Gunze TBD Full VGA (640x480), transmissive - STN - with CCFL Display driver will support higher resolution formats without losing display parameter. Meaning, each LCD driver must address a 'scaling' protocol to maintain screen size without needing up/down and left/right scrolling buttons. - Details TBD. This may become an issue when the Telli*Screen is used for Internet surfing. INVERTER Used for developing voltage for the CCFL. Ideally the inverter will be integrated on the Main host board. LCD Display. The LCD display has 4 lines of 20 characters each and serves as a primary interface between the printer and the user. The display can be used for following functions: - indicates the size of the paper when a cassette is inserted - displays printer status such as warming up, online, and job in process - displays printer error messages and error codes such as paper out, toner out, jam, and machine check - serves as a copy counter for multiple copy printing - displays menu options in normal, configuration, and diagnostics mode Up to eight special characters may be uploaded to the display by the controller. The display is also Kana-capable for display of Japanese characters.
LCD Display. The MK-312BT has a lighted LCD for ease of use. When first turned ON, it will display a progressive bar as the various self tests are run.
