An employee may be absent from school duties without loss of pay for a period of not to exceed more than five (5) days for each death in the immediate family. b. Definition: Immediate family shall be construed to mean: father, mother, husband, wife, child, sister, brother, grandparents, father-in-law, mother-in- law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, grandchildren. c. Leave due to death in the immediate family must be taken within seven (7) days of the death unless permission has been granted by the Superintendent.
