Leave for Professional Service. Upon approval of the Superintendent, a unit member recognized for professional expertise by another educational organization and invited by that organization to act as a consultant, participate in a seminar, or act in an official capacity in an educational program, shall be granted a paid leave of absence enabling him/her to attend such a function. Such leave shall not be granted in situations in which the member receives compensation beyond reimbursement for costs.
