Leave for Union Representative Sample Clauses

The Leave for Union Representative clause grants designated union representatives the right to take time off from their regular work duties to perform union-related activities. Typically, this leave may be used for attending union meetings, participating in negotiations, or representing employees in grievance procedures, and it often requires advance notice or approval from the employer. Leave for Union Representative. Employees accepting full-time positions as Union Representatives shall be given an automatic leave-of-absence without pay or benefits for the term of their office, or any renewal thereof, without loss of seniority rights and with the privilege of returning to their former positions. In the event a second employee wishes leave pursuant to this section, at the same time as another, he/she shall only be entitled with the consent of the Company.
Leave for Union Representative. The City, upon request, may grant a leave of absence without pay, for the period covered by this agreement, without loss of civil service status and/or without loss of continued accrual of seniority and aggregate City service or tenure status for all purposes to no more than one employee of the City who is a member of the Union and whom the Union may desire to have act as its union representative to be engaged in the business of the Union. Requests will be considered in good faith and denials will not be arbitrary or capricious.
Leave for Union Representative. If an employee is elected to serve the Union on a full time basis, he/she shall be considered to be on leave-of-absence without pay for a maximum period of two (2) years. The company must be given as much notice as possible. Upon return, he/she shall be re-employed at the same type of work which he/she performed prior to his/her leave-of-absence and with seniority accumulated, provided that not more than one employee be absent at any one time.
