Leave to Accept Union Office. Any employee elected or appointed to an office of the Union which requires a part or all of the employee’s time will, upon application, be given annual leave, insofar as such employee may have accrued annual leave, or leave without pay. An employee who is on leave in order to discharge Union duties will continue to accrue service credit for a period not to exceed four (4) years. This Union leave may be extended by mutual agreement. This provision does not apply if an employee seeks leave solely to act as a candidate for Union office.
