Employer Union Relations. No employee or group of employees shall undertake to represent the Union at meetings with the Employer without the proper authorization of the Union. To implement this, the Union shall supply the Employer with the names of its officers and similarly, the Employer shall supply the Union with a list of its supervisory or other personnel with whom the Union may be required to transact business.

Employer Union Relations. Union Dues 7.1 The Employer shall deduct from the monthly pay of all employees an amount equal to the monthly Union dues as established from time to time by the Union, the structure of which shall not require deductions that are not compatible with the University payroll system, and shall remit such amounts to the office designated by the Union by the 15th day of the following month. The remittance shall be accompanied by a statement listing the name, department and, the home address and telephone number of each employee and the amount deducted from each employee. 7.2 The Union shall indemnify and save harmless the Employer from any claims which may be made against it by an employee as a result of the deduction or non-deduction of Union dues. 7.3 The Employer shall indicate on each employee's income tax slip the amount of the deductions under this Article for the preceding calendar year.
Employer Union Relations. 7.0.1 The University and the MSA commit to the goal of a positive labour relations culture, recognizing that the University’s role is to manage in the best interests of the University community and MSA’s role is to represent the collective interests of the bargaining unit. 7.0.2 At time of hire, the University will inform all new employees of the contractual relationship between the University and the MSA, and provide them access to a copy of the Collective Agreement, either electronically or physically. 7.0.3 All new employees will have the opportunity to meet with a representative from MSA for a period of up to fifteen (15) minutes during the employee's probationary period, without loss of regular earnings. The purpose of such meeting will be to acquaint the employee with the role of MSA and the Collective Agreement. Both parties may appoint alternative members. This Committee shall enjoy the full support of both parties in the interests of improved service to the public, and job security for the employees.

Employer Union Relations. 7.01 The Employer will grant Union Representatives access to its premises for a specific purpose provided prior approval has been obtained. When investigating a grievance for the purpose of meeting with the Grievor or his immediate supervisor, an appointment with the grieving Employee or his immediate supervisor will be obtained through the Chief Administrative Officer. The foregoing approval shall not be unreasonably denied. 7.02 The Employer acknowledges the right of the Union to appoint Employees in the bargaining unit as Union Stewards. 7.03 The Union shall determine the number of Union Stewards having regard to the plan of the organization and the distribution of Employees at the workplace. No more than three (3) Union Stewards identified by the Union shall be permitted time off for Union business at once. 7.04 The Employer further recognizes the Union Xxxxxxx(s) as an official representative of the Union for the purpose of this Collective Agreement. Such individuals will be identified to the Employer by the Union in writing no later than thirty (30) days after the ratification of this Collective Agreement. 7.05 New Employees shall be advised of the name of their Union Xxxxxxx at the time of hire and will be provided with a copy of this Collective Agreement. 7.06 The Employer and the Union shall equally cost share the printing of this Collective Agreement.
