Common use of LECTURERS AND RESEARCHERS Clause in Contracts

LECTURERS AND RESEARCHERS. 1. An individual who is immediately before visiting a Contracting State a resident of the other Contracting State and who, at the invitation of the Government of the first-mentioned Contracting State or of a public institution or organization therein, or under an official cooperation programme is present in that Contracting State for a period not exceeding three consecutive years solely for the purpose of teaching, giving lectures or carrying out research at such institution or organization or under such programme shall be exempted from tax in that Contracting State on his remuneration for such activity.
