Letters of Instruction. 12.3.1 Letters of Instruction are used as a tool designed to serve as a way for the Department or Division to provide an employee with information and instruction or training to correct behavior or performance deficits. Letters of Instruction are non-punitive; however, they may be used to establish documentation that an employee has been made aware of their responsibility with regard to a particular set of circumstances.
