Level 0 - Informal. The primary purpose of the grievance procedure is to achieve, at the lowest possible level, an equitable solution to a grievant’s claim. The employee, therefore, shall discuss the grievance informally with his/her immediate supervisor in an attempt to reach a solution. The employee may choose to have a fellow employee as a witness in this informal discussion. No written record of the grievance shall be kept if the grievance is not pursued beyond the informal level. No step may be by-passed without mutual agreement of both parties. (revised 2021-22)
