Common use of LICENSE REQUIREMENT Clause in Contracts

LICENSE REQUIREMENT. Contractor’s attention is directed to Business and Professions Code Sections 7000 et seq. concerning the licensing of contractors. At the time Contractor submits its bid to the City and all times Contractor is performing the Work, Contractor shall have a valid license issued by the Contractors State License Board in the classification stated in the Special Provisions. Contractor and all subcontractors shall be licensed in accordance with the laws of this State and any contractor or subcontractor not so licensed is subject to penalties imposed by such laws. CONTRACTORS ARE REQUIRED BY LAW TO BE LICENSED AND REGULATED BY THE CONTRACTORS’ STATE LICENSE BOARD WHICH HAS JURISDICTION TO INVESTIGATE COMPLAINTS AGAINST CONTRACTORS IF A COMPLAINT REGARDING A PATENT ACT OR OMISSION IS FILED WITHIN FOUR YEARS OF THE DATE OF THE ALLEGED VIOLATION. A COMPLAINT REGARDING A LATENT ACT OR OMISSION PERTAINING TO STRUCTURAL DEFECTS MUST BE FILED WITHIN 10 YEARS OF THE DATE OF THE ALLEGED VIOLATION. ANY QUESTIONS CONCERNING A CONTRACTOR MAY BE REFERRED TO THE REGISTRAR, CONTRACTORS’ STATE LICENSE BOARD, X.X. XXX 00000, XXXXXXXXXX, XXXXXXXXXX 00000.
