Long Term Substitute Position. A long-term substitute unit member is a substitute teacher who works a minimum of 11 consecutive workdays in the same assignment for a regular classroom teacher who is on leave or a substitute teacher who fills a vacancy for a minimum of 11 consecutive workdays in the same assignment. Any break in service will end the long-term status except that a substitute unit member may be absent as specified in Article 9 of these Substitute Articles.

Long Term Substitute Position. If a position requiring a long-term substitute opens during any school year, the District agrees to offer such a position to any qualified teacher on ULA. A long-term substitute position is defined as one requiring a substitute for a single teacher for more than 30 working days. If a teacher on ULA is recalled to a long-term substitute position, the teacher shall be issued a contract specifying appropriate step and lane placement and shall receive all fringe benefits otherwise called for in this Agreement.

  • Long-Term Substitute Teachers A long-term substitute teacher is defined as a teacher appointed by the Board of Education to fill a temporary teaching vacancy in a classroom for a period of ninety (90) consecutive days or longer. Long-term substitute teachers are entitled to all the rights and privileges accorded a first year teacher, prorated for the period of appointment.

  • Long Term Substitute A substitute who remains in a single assignment of forty-five (45) or more consecutive workdays.

  • Long-Term Substitutes Long-term substitutes are defined as teachers hired to fill the temporary vacancy of a teacher on leave in the same assignment for more than sixty (60) days. The employment of long-term substitutes shall automatically expire at the end of the period of substitution or upon return to duty of the teacher from an approved leave of absence without any action by the Board or further notice to the teacher.

  • Long Term Leaves Long-term leaves are expected to be one year or less in duration to the extent feasible. At the end of the leave the employee will be returned to his/her former position or a position of similar nature. It is the responsibility of the employee to apply for long-term leave by letter to the Executive Director, Human Resources, and if the leave is granted, to advise the Executive Director, Human Resources of his/her return date at the earliest possible time; in no case shall the return date notice be provided later than April 1 for a return at the beginning of the next contract year. In addition to items 1-6 below employees will also enjoy those Family and Medical Leave rights required by state and federal law. Health insurance and other insurance benefits provided through the District may remain in force throughout the leave period, at the employee's discretion, by the employee submitting to the District the monthly premium in advance of each payment due date, provided that such continuation of benefits is allowed by the insurance carrier.

  • Long Term Leave Leaves without pay may be granted at the discretion of the Board to a maximum of one (1) year at a time without loss of previous service credit.

  • Long Term Occasional Teachers or teachers hired in term positions, shall be eligible for the SEB as described herein for a maximum of eight (8) weeks with the length of the benefit limited by the term of the assignment. Teachers on daily casual assignments are not entitled to the benefits outlined in this article.
