Long Term. a. Extended military leave shall be granted to an employee who is required to serve military obligations in the Armed Forces of the United States. b. Employees called to active duty shall receive full pay for the first 30 days. c. Employees may elect to use annual leave if applicable after the initial 30 days. d. An employee granted long-term military leave shall be re-employed provided that: 1. The tour of duty is completed. 2. The application for reemployment is filed within six months following the date of discharge or release from active military duty. 3. Original eligibility for employment has been maintained. 4. Reassignment within a reasonable time, not to exceed six months, is afforded the School Board, except as provided by law. e. Military leave shall not be granted to an employee who volunteers to serve when such service is not required.
