Loss of Licence. (a) A full-time employee with one (1) or more years of service shall not be subject to dismissal for loss of his/her driver’s license for a first occurrence, unless also convicted of causing an accident involving serious bodily harm or major property damage, or drugs for other than medical purposes, but shall be placed on lay-off without pay or benefits until his/her licence is restored. A second such occurrence will subject the employee to dismissal. It is understood that, in case of such a suspension of licence not resulting in dismissal, a Casual Employee may be engaged as a replacement. (b) An employee who is required to use an “ignition interlock” to operate a vehicle, is not deemed to have the required licence restored in order to operate a Corporation vehicle.
