Lost or Destroyed Checks. A. Any payroll warrant, mailed to a unit member and not received within seven (7) calendar days after mailing, shall be replaced within approximately two (2) weeks after the seven (7) day period, provided the unit member has given the Payroll Section a written request for replacement. B. Any payroll warrant, which is lost or destroyed after receipt, shall be replaced within approximately two (2) weeks after the Payroll Section receives written notification from the unit member.

Lost or Destroyed Checks. Any Presented Check that is damaged, lost or destroyed (“Damaged Checks”) so as to be rejected by automated processing systems during processing will not be covered by this Agreement. Customer and the Bank will cooperate in the payment decision regarding processed Damaged Checks. The Customer agrees that the Bank has discretion regarding returning a Damaged Check to the presenting bank or otherwise to any depository financial institution. This means that the Bank is not obligated to (but may) return a Damaged Check, unless expressly instructed otherwise by the Customer. The Customer further agrees the Bank’s decision to return a Damaged Check does not obligate the Bank to return future Damaged Checks. If the Bank returns a Damaged Check, it may return the Damaged Check by any means reasonable, including by use of notice in lieu of return or by return of copies of the Damaged Check. The Bank will use its best efforts to notify Customer of a Damaged Check.

Lost or Destroyed Checks. 4.7.1 A replacement request for any paycheck that is lost or destroyed after receipt by the employee shall be submitted to the Monterey County Office of Education within two (2) business days after the filing of an affidavit by the employee that he/she had received a paycheck which was subsequently lost or destroyed. 4.7.2 Any paycheck not received by the employee shall not be considered to be lost or destroyed until seven (7) calendar days after the date of mailing to the employee or two (2) workdays after date of delivery to the payroll department of the Fiscal Services Office.
