Major Program Goals. The major goals of the OAA Program are to improve older individuals’ quality of life, preserve their independence, and prevent or delay their need for costlier institutional care. These goals are achieved through the implementation of a comprehensive and coordinated service system that provides a continuum of service alternatives and effective delivery of nutritious meals that meet the diverse needs of elders and their caregivers.
Major Program Goals. A. Reduce trauma to the child abuse victim through therapeutic program services.
B. Protect and nurture children by reducing the trauma caused by multiple investigative interviews.
C. Improve collaboration between law enforcement, prosecution, treatment professionals, educators and child protective workers to provide more coordinated services to the children and their families.
D. Enhance the quality of investigations to improve the protection of children and the prosecution of perpetrators.
E. Take an active role to reduce child abuse in the community.
Major Program Goals. The major goals of the LSP are to ensure that:
a. LSP services are provided to individuals who need long-term care alternatives to maintain an acceptable quality of life in their own home; and
b. Nursing home placement is delayed or avoided because of the services provided in this program.
Major Program Goals. The major goals of the CCE Program are to preserve the independence of elders and prevent or delay costlier institutional care through a community care service system that provides case management and other in-home and community services as needed under the direction of a lead agency, and to provide a continuum of service alternatives that meets the diverse needs of functionally-impaired elders.
Major Program Goals. The major goals of the HCE Program are to ensure that:
a. A basic subsidy is provided to the caregiver of each client; and
b. A special subsidy is provided when essential to the well-being of the client.
Major Program Goals. EHEAP is designed to provide crisis assistance to eligible low-income households with at least one individual aged sixty (60) or older experiencing a heating or cooling emergency.

Major Program Goals. The goals of the adult and vocational education program are to ensure that an eligible client has the opportunity to receive English language training, Adult Basic Education, and Post-Secondary Adult Vocational Instruction:
1) appropriate to the client’s needs (to assist eligible clients in furthering their education);
2) sufficient to perform effectively in gainful employment (in developing technical and employability skills); and
3) appropriate for advancement and the enhancement of self-sufficiency (in moving towards economic self-sufficiency and effective resettlement).

2. To provide health services in schools that are integrated with other school health services and included in the current school health services plan.
Major Program Goals. The goals of the Florida Onsite Sewage Nitrogen Reduction Strategies Study are to develop passive strategies for nitrogen reduction that complement the use of conventional onsite sewage treatment and disposal systems, to systematically evaluate the field performance and associated costs of such OSTDS nitrogen reduction strategies in comparison to conventional and existing technologies and to assess and model the environmental fate and transport of nitrogen discharged to the environment. Nitrogen loading is important to the mission of the Bureau of Onsite Sewage Programs: “Protecting the public health and environment through a comprehensive onsite sewage program”.
