Common use of Management Development Program Clause in Contracts

Management Development Program. In addition to the tuition reimbursement set forth herein, full-time employees shall receive a one thousand dollar ($1,000.00) per calendar year management development reimbursement. This reimbursement may be for such career development items as training courses, software, technical books, desktop computer, laptop, cell phones, tablets, and printer when utilized for work. The reimbursement may also be used for fitness related expenses such as health club/gym memberships, fitness classes (such as yoga, Pilates, aerobics), and exercise equipment (such as weights, treadmill, bicycle). Expenses that would not qualify include camera, speakers, recreational sports equipment, sports team/competition fees, clothing, and vitamins/supplements. Employees hired after July 1 will be eligible for a prorated amount. Expenses reimbursed under this program are subject to the approval of the employees’ Department Head, or in place of the Department Head, the City Manager. Reimbursement approval shall be based on the finding that the product, training or service serves the purpose of contributing to the employee’s fitness, work productivity, and/or professional development. In the event a reimbursement request is denied, the employee may submit an appeal to the City Manager.

During the term of this MOU, employees shall receive an additional one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) toward reimbursement of eligible expenses under this section.
