Curriculum Development. This includes the analysis and coordination of textual materials; constant review of current literature in the field, some of which are selected for the college library collection, the preparation of selective, descriptive materials such as outlines and syllabi; conferring with other faculty and administration on curricular problems; and, the attendance and participation in inter and intra-college conferences and advisory committees.
Curriculum Development. Teacher participation in curriculum development is an important function and a professional responsibility. The teachers and the administration shall work cooperatively on curriculum development.
Curriculum Development. 11.1 The Board and the Association agree to involve teachers in development, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum. Teachers shall be nominated by the Superintendent or his/her designee with the Association's approval.
11.2 The curriculum hourly rate of payment will be based on the beginning BA salary.
11.3 New programs approved by the Board may be preceded by in-service education of teachers as provided by the Department of Learning Services. Materials and equipment to support such programs will be provided.
11.4 For the purpose of this Article, "Curriculum Development" shall be defined as: Design, revision and/or modification of District-wide curricula offerings resulting in a "product to be utilized in classrooms." Payment will be made for those projects, which are approved in advance by the Executive Director of Learning Services. Such approval shall be in writing and shall specify: (1) number of hours, (2) timelines, and (3) format of the expected product.

An employee may request or be requested to take temporary leave to participate in the development or evaluation of a school curriculum or instructional project, e.g. committee work. Curriculum Development. The purpose of this Article is to provide the funds and procedures necessary to implement curriculum development grants in the District.
Curriculum Development. Creating a standards-based curriculum development process that focuses on:
1. all learners achieving designated performance standards;
2. integrating general, academic and technical curriculum;
3. articulation of multicultural, gender fair, disability sensitive, and developmentally appropriate curriculum from Pre K-12 using multiple indicators for assessing learner knowledge, growth, and performance.
Curriculum Development. 1. To meet school system program needs, consideration will be given to those unit members who apply and are found by the Board to qualify for those jobs that are available in curriculum development, in-service training, and other school system programs, under the following procedures and criteria. A factor in the qualifications to be considered will be prior summer employment with MCPS.
2. Unit members will be notified concerning the status of their application for such employment as early as possible with a view toward facilitating personal plans of unit members.
3. All Summer In-Service and Curriculum Development Centers shall have clean, appropriately equipped work areas, facilities, and rest rooms.
4. Unit members assigned to work during the summer on curriculum development, in- service, or other school system projects shall be paid based upon an hourly rate of pay of $25.00 per hour for such work.
5. Fixed stipends, in lieu of hourly pay, may be provided for certain project work and summer workshops.
6. Ten-month unit members employed during the summer shall be eligible to use all and any accrued sick leave on any duty day when illness or disability prevents their reporting to their assignment.
Curriculum Development. 9.14.1 For the purposes of this section, curriculum development for instructional faculty consists of major development or revision of courses. For non-instructional faculty the equivalent activity will consist of approved projects that enhance service delivery and promote excellence.
9.14.2 The nature and extent of any curriculum development activities shall be determined in consultation with the employee, Department Chair and Xxxx or designate. Curriculum development activities shall be authorized by the appropriate Xxxx or designate on the basis of recommendations received from Department Chairs in consultation with their departments.
9.14.3 The assignment of, or request for, curriculum development activities, by individual faculty, and the time(s) when such activities shall occur, shall be decided by mutual consent of the Department Chair, employee and Xxxx or designate.
