Common use of Mandatory Retirement Clause in Contracts

Mandatory Retirement. 2.1.7.1 The mandatory retirement age for an employee is the greater of age 70 or the age compounded by adding 5 to the earliest age for qualifying for an unreduced Canada Pension. 2.1.7.2 An employee who meets the mandatory retirement age shall lose his or her employment status except for the purposes of temporary substitution. This clause will not affect current employees who are age 65 or older as of April 1, 2001. 2.1.7.3 In exceptional circumstances, the functional area and Xxxx may agree to hire for one academic year at a time, a past employee over the mandatory retirement age.
