Common use of MARINE DISASTER Clause in Contracts

MARINE DISASTER. Unlicensed crew members who suffer loss of personal effects and clothes through wreck or marine disaster shall be compensated by a lump sum payment of four hundred dollars ($400.00) and, subject to satisfactory proof of loss, an additional payment not to exceed eight hundred dollars ($800.00). For employees on outside (continuous) vessels the additional payment maximum is $1,100.00 (in lieu of $800.00). In the event of loss of life, these monies shall be paid to the beneficiary.
