Common use of Marking of Contractor Deliverables Clause in Contracts

Marking of Contractor Deliverables. (1) Each Contractor Deliverable shall be marked in accordance with the requirements specified in Contract, or if no such requirement is specified, the Contractor shall mark each Contractor Deliverable clearly and indelibly in accordance with the requirements of the relevant DEF-XXXX 05-132 as specified in the Contract. In the absence of such requirements, the Contractor Deliverables shall be marked with the MOD stock reference, NATO Stock Number (NSN) or alternative reference number specified in Schedule 2. (2) Any marking method used shall not have a detrimental effect on the strength, serviceability or corrosion resistance of the Contractor Deliverables. (3) The marking shall include any serial numbers allocated to the Contractor Deliverable. DRAFT (4) Where because of its size or nature it is not possible to mark a Contractor Deliverable with the required particulars, the required information should be included on the package or carton in which the Contractor Deliverable is packed, in accordance with Clause 19.c (Packaging and Labelling (excluding Contractor Deliverables containing Ammunition or Explosives)).
