MATERIAL AND EQUIPMENT. 1. All material and equipment acquired by the operator for petroleum operations hereunder shall be owned by the parties in undivided shares in the proportion of their respective participating interests. 2. Except as may be otherwise approved by the operating committee, the operator shall purchase for the joint account of the parties only such material and equipment as are reasonably required in the conduct of operation provided for in approved participation work programmes or revisions thereof, the operator shall not stockpile material or equipment for future use without the approval of the operating committee. 3. Jointly acquired material or equipment declared by the operator to be surplus shall be disposed of in such manner as the operating committee may direct; or, if the book value thereof does not exceed.................U.S. dollars(U.S. $...........), the operator shall dispose of same in such manner as the operator shall deem appropriate; provided, however, that each Party may, if practicable, separately take or sell and dispose of its interest in such material or equipment or may by notice in writing, and subject to revocation at will, authorize the operator, for a period or periods of not more than one (1) year each, to sell such material and equipment for the account of the party or parties giving such authorization. Each party shall have the right to purchase, at the prevailing market price in the area, material or equipment which the operator has declared to be surplus and which the operator intends to dispose of on the open market.
