Meal and accommodation expenses. ▪ During the employee’s absence from home, the employer will bear the costs of meals, adequate accommodation, and compensation for other necessary costs of accommodation. ▪ This does not apply if the employer provides suitable lodgings according to reasonable standards and also pays the employee a meal allowance of €6.65 per day., €6.75 per day from 1 August 2021 and €6.95 per day from 1 January 2022. ▪ The employee will not be entitled to compensation for the other necessary costs of accommodation if that which these costs relate to is provided in kind.
