FUNERAL EXPENSES. The City shall expend a sum not to exceed $30,000 for funeral expenses to the heirs of any employee covered by this MOU who dies while on active duty from injuries incurred while performing his/her job or who dies as a direct cause of such injuries. This amount includes the amount already available for this purpose in accordance with California State Labor Code Section 4701.

FUNERAL EXPENSES. In the event an employee is killed in the line of duty, or dies from injuries sustained in the line of duty, the County shall pay the sum of $10,000 toward funeral and connected expenses to his surviving spouse (or, if none, to his heirs) regardless of amounts paid from other sources.

FUNERAL EXPENSES. The City shall expend a sum not to exceed $7,500 for funeral expense to the heirs of any unit employee covered by this Memorandum of Understanding who dies while on active duty from injuries incurred while performing his or her job or who dies as a direct cause of such injuries. This benefit is not applicable to members who were not on duty at the time of injury which resulted in their death. Unit employees who are in the classification of Police Officer Recruit are not eligible for this benefit. This amount includes the amount of $5,000 already available for this purpose in accordance with California State Labor Code Section 4701.
FUNERAL EXPENSES. 53.1 In the event an officer is killed in the line of duty, or dies from injuries sustained in the line of duty, the City shall pay the sum of twelve thousand dollars ($12,000.00) toward funeral and connected expenses to the officer’s surviving spouse (or, if none, to the officer’s heirs), regardless of amounts paid from other sources.
FUNERAL EXPENSES. In case of the unfortunate death of the Insured Person due to an Accident in accordance with Benefit 1 of Section A, We will reimburse the costs incurred up to the limit specified in the Policy Schedule / Certificate of Insurance for the funeral Expenses of the Insured Person. FUNERAL EXPENSES. ‌ 14.1 The sum of $25,000 shall be paid as hereinafter provided when a law enforcement officer, while engaged in the performance of his/her law enforcement duties, is accidentally killed or received accidental bodily injury which subsequently results in the loss of his/her life within one (1) year provided that such killing is not the result of suicide and that such bodily injury is not intentionally self-inflicted. 14.2 If a law enforcement officer, while engaged in the performance of his law enforcement duties, is unlawfully and intentionally killed or subsequently dies within one (1) year as a result of such unlawful and intentional act, the sum of $75,000 shall be paid as hereinafter provided. 14.3 Such payments, pursuant to the provisions above, whether secured by insurance or not, shall be made to the beneficiary designated by such law enforcement officer in writing, signed by him/her and delivered to his/her employer during his lifetime. If no such designation is made, then it shall be paid to his/her surviving child or children and spouse in equal portions, and if there be no surviving child or spouse, then to his/her parent or parents. If a beneficiary designation is not made and there is no surviving child, spouse, or parent, then it shall be paid to his/her estate. 14.4 Such payments, pursuant to the provisions above, shall be in addition to any workers' compensation or pension benefits and shall be exempt from the claims and demands of creditors of such law enforcement officer.
FUNERAL EXPENSES. In the event of the Accidental death of an Insured Person, up to the additional amount stated in the Schedule of Benefits for reasonable funeral expenses incurred in their Country of Domicile.
FUNERAL EXPENSES. We will pay to the Insured Person’s nominee, trustee or assignee, as the case may be, a funeral allowance of amount as specified in the Schedule as funeral expenses in the event of Accidental death of the Insured Person.
